 ====== Dwarves ====== ====== Dwarves ======

-Dwarves are a fascinating racerenowned throughout the lands for their exceptional patienceunwavering resilience, and formidable physical power Their very presence exudes an aura of strength and stabilitylike the mountains they so often call home.+Dwarves are a people of deep roots and enduring traditions. To them, the world is best understood not through fleeting impressions but through patient observationcareful thought, and lessons handed down through generations. Their wisdom is not abstract philosophy, but a practical knowledge born of stonesteel, and the unyielding challenges of life beneath the mountains. Every Dwarf grows up surrounded by the weight of their ancestors’ choices and the responsibility to add something lasting to that legacy.

-Howeverthis steadfast nature comes at a cost. Dwarves are not known for their flexibilityboth physically and metaphorically. They are creatures of habit and traditionslow to adapt to change, and somewhat lacking in the adaptability that other races possessThis inflexibility can sometimes make them appear stubborn or resistant to new ideas.+{{ :legacy:characters:ancestry:dwarf.png?400|}}Physically, Dwarves are renowned for their strength and resilience. Though rarely tall, their compact builds are dense with muscle, their endurance unmatched in the mines, workshops, and battlefields where they thrive. They are masters of toil who value honest labour, and their crafts---whether weaponstoolsor architecture---are celebrated for their sturdiness and longevityTo a Dwarf, strength is not merely a measure of might but the ability to bear burdens, endure hardship, and keep moving forward when others would falter.

-Another notable trait of Dwarves is their physical nearsightedness.  While their keen eyes can spot the smallest detail at close range – essential for the intricate craftsmanship they are known for – they struggle to see at a distance. This significantly impacts their ability to effectively use ranged weapons like bows and slingsmaking them less proficient in ranged combat than other races.+A Dwarf’s presence inspires trust: their word is their bond, their loyalty fierce, and their communities tightly woven by oaths and obligations. They are not always quick to laughter or easy to befriend, but when a Dwarf calls someone ally or kinthat bond runs as deep as bedrock.

-Despite these limitations, Dwarves remain force to be reckoned with. Their strengths far outweigh their weaknesses, and their contributions to the world are undeniableWhether it be their masterful craftsmanshiptheir unyielding determinationor their steadfast loyaltyDwarves have earned their place as one of the most respected and admired races.+For all their stoicism, Dwarves are not humourless. They value feasts, song, and the warmth of hearth shared with companionsTo live as a Dwarf is to balance gravity with joy, discipline with revelry, and tradition with the slow but steady forging of new pathsThey are a people who weather centuries as mountains do storms---scarredperhapsbut standing strong, unbroken, and unbowed.
